Welcome!

Wildflower Therapy Services is now offering Neurodivergent Affirming Autism + ADHD Assessments for Adults!

Assessments are provided by a Licensed, Seasoned, Neurodivergent, Master’s Level Therapist and Board Approved Supervisor, Jessica Magnuson.

Wildflower is private pay only and does not accept insurance. We offer both online and in person appointments in Andover, MN.

“After working with neurodivergent folx for over 10 years I have seen the need for Autism and ADHD assessment services grow exponentially.

Our current system cannot keep up. Most Psychologists and Autism Clinics have waitlists that span 2-5 years.

I want to support the needs of the neurodivergent community, my community. No one should have to wait that long!

I believe there is an opportunity for highly trained/specialty trained Master’s Level Therapists to provide Autism and ADHD assessments for adults (highly masking or low support needs) to help fill that gap.

I am happy to offer an alternative option for people who do not want to wait years to know who they truly are.”

Signs you may be Autistic, ADHD or both:

You have always felt different or struggled to fit in.

Someone you are close to has suggested you may be Autistic or have ADHD.

You feel uncomfortable in some/most social situations. You don’t know what to say, where to look, how to act. You often feel like you are “missing something.”

Your Tiktok, Instagram and social media feeds are full of neurodivergent content and creators. You often relate to neurodivergent people and their stories.

You have sensory preferences around clothing, food, touch, sound, lighting and your environment. You like things to be “a certain way” in order to be comfortable.

Your passions or hobbies look different - they may be deep and intense or overly abundant yet fleeting. You feel like you can’t get enough of your favorite thing!

You often feel like you have to put on an act, a persona or a “mask” when you are in social situations.

People in your family have been diagnosed as Autistic/ADHD. You may suspect some are just “undiagnosed.”

Who are Wildflower Autism and ADHD Assessments designed for?

  • Adults over the age of 18 who are verbal and of average IQ or higher

  • Adults who are wanting to explore a neurodivergent diagnosis for their own knowledge and understanding

  • Adults who are high masking, AFAB, socialized as female, highly anxious, perfectionistic or people pleasers are a specialty at Wildflower

  • Adults who currently self-identify as neurodivergent and want a clinical perspective

  • Adults who may need work or school accommodations (we recommend verifying with your specific organization/school about what is required before scheduling)

 FAQs

  • No, we do not. We are private pay only. Payment plans are available as needed.

  • Both options are available. We have an office in the NW suburbs (Andover) available for in person testing and feedback. We also offer zoom appointments for people located in Minnesota.

  • Part of the process of diagnosing neurodivergence is considering other factors including trauma, anxiety, mood disorders and OCD. This information will be gathered during the clinical interviews and more assessment measures may be added on to support with this process. (Please note we do not diagnose personality disorders)

  • No. Government backed entities require a Ph.D. or Doctorate Level Assessor and additional testing measures (like IQ testing) in those circumstances.

  • This varies and is determined by the specific medication prescriber. A lot of providers will accept the diagnosis but this cannot be guaranteed. We do not offer medication management at Wildflower, but can refer you to local providers as requested.

  • No, that would require IQ testing or a neuropsych assessment which are conducted by Psychologists.

  • Neuropsych assessments are provided by Doctors and Psychologists and much more intensive. These assessments provide a comprehensive picture of how your brain functions regarding learning, memory, intelligence, comprehension, visual-spatial skills, language, problem solving and reasoning. Neuropsych assessments are most appropriate when their are questions about learning difficulties or disabilities, cognitive delays, traumatic brain injuries or brain conditions like Alzheimer's/Dementia.

  • There is no guarantee you will be diagnosed with Autism/ADHD, or you will receive the diagnosis you are hoping for. That would be unethical and negate the purpose, validity and accuracy of a clinical assessment.

  • Because we are private pay only and do not submit any records to insurance companies, only you will receive your diagnosis. It is your choice whether you share your diagnosis or your report with others.

  • If you are looking to use your diagnosis to access medications or to request work/school accommodations, it is highly recommended you choose the full report option. You will need this necessary clinical information (mental health history, current symptoms/severity, testing scores/interpretations, full clinical summary) to prove/justify your diagnoses to medical providers and institutions.

  • We recognize that not everyone wants or needs a full 20 page diagnostic report “just laying around.” An informal assessment / consultation will help you understand yourself better, with additional layers of privacy and discretion built in. You will receive a 1 page letter with the results along with some helpful/relevant resources.
